Help India’s Poor Have a Relationship with Christ

Hands of Freedom is a holistic outreach movement that is enabling, equipping and empowering our members to be effective disciples of Jesus Christ. Join us as we plant churches and provide financial and training services, leading our members to live sustainable lives.

Hands of Freedom serves in India, where millions live below the international poverty line. Church planting is central to our vision and mission. Churches play a critical role as the hub of spiritual, economic and social development in each community. Each new church helps develop leadership skills among pastors and members, provides spiritual assistance to those in need, and serves as the nucleus of economic activity in the area.

We are blessed to have reached thousands of members through this ministry. We actively share the gospel through a holistic ministry model that includes savings programs, preschools, biblically based spiritual and business training, and access to clean water.

Through our School of Ministry, we are identifying and training lay leaders with leadership potential and a calling to serve Jesus Christ. These leaders are deployed to local churches and communities, and lead our local outreach activities.

Hands of Freedom exists to be Christ’s light to those living in spiritual darkness with a goal to guide them towards a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and to operate in a new identity in Christ. Our vision is to be a movement that produces fully trained and mature disciples of Jesus Christ in all of its activities.

Meeting a Tremendous Need

India has a population of 1.2 billion people. Only about two percent are followers of Jesus Christ. Driven by the great commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28, our goal is to make disciples who can be salt and light, and change their communities for Christ. There are many challenges facing our communities due to extreme poverty and a world view based on the caste system that mandates that all people are created unequal.

One-Third of World's Poor

According to the World Bank, one-third of the world’s poor live in India and one-third of the world’s malnourished children live in India.

Child Labor

India is home to the largest population of working children in the world with an estimated 111 million children struggling as child laborers, most working in hazardous and degrading conditions, for an average of 12 hours a day.

Child Trafficking

The third-largest crime in India, after drugs and gun smuggling, is child trafficking. More than 45,000 children go missing each year. More than two million children, mainly girls aged 5-15, are forced into prostitution and sexual slavery.

Food and Shelter

More than 10 million children go to sleep on the pavement each night hungry and unprotected.

Education and Literacy

Education and literacy are put off as parents struggle to balance the immediate needs for food. Girls suffer the most. Some girls are married off early, work as indentured servants or end up in prostitution just to survive. As a result, there are more than 200 million illiterate women in India.

Holistic Outreach

The biggest challenge that India’s people face is extreme poverty. To help alleviate the challenges of physical poverty, Hands of Freedom has helped to launch multi-faceted kingdom solutions which we believe will help us rescue vulnerable families and help sustain them.

We are launching schools that provide what is often the first, and perhaps only, chance for some children to receive an education and escape a life of poverty.

Savings Groups, Business Development

Through savings programs, vocational and business development training, and providing product distribution channels, we are empowering women to be change agents for the Lord.

Clean Water, Medical Services

We are changing lives by providing solutions to the most fundamental needs, including access to clean water, healthy living education and basic medical services.
