Hands of Freedom is participating in Give to the Max Day today, a day that has become a national model for giving back. Your gift will help us guide families toward physical, social and spiritual transformation, and save at-risk children from child trafficking.
Give to the Max Day was created in 2009 to launch GiveMN, a collaborative venture led by Minnesota Community Foundation and many other organizations committed to helping make our state a better place. That initial spark touched off an outpouring of generosity: $14 million in 24 hours. As a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization, Hands of Freedom is humbled to participate in this very worthwhile event.
Your gift will increase our ability to help break the cycle of poverty in India and save lives.
God’s love is changing lives. Current estimates reveal 40 to 44 million at-risk children living in India. Many of those go to sleep on the pavement each night, hungry and unprotected. The third-largest crime in India, after drugs and gun smuggling, is child trafficking. Each year, 30,000 children, mainly young girls, are forced into prostitution and sexual slavery. India is home to the largest population of working children in the world. Children are trapped struggling as child laborers, most working in hazardous and degrading conditions, for an average of 12 hours a day.
Your Give to the Max gift will be used to help fund our initiatives, which range from church plantings to our savings groups, business development, clean water, medical services and education to save children from child labor and prostitution.
Help us lead our members to more sustainable lives.
