‘This Is a Catastrophe.’ In India, Illness Is Everywhere. – New York Times

India has been devastated by the second wave of COVID, reporting more than 5 million new cases in April alone based on CNBC news. The death toll in April 2021 is higher than any time during the pandemic. Most states are going back into a lockdown. 

We are facing a challenging season. An additional 75 million people dropped below the poverty line after the first wave of the pandemic. This second wave is worse. The impact on impoverished families will be devastating. There is a great need to provide help to these families.

During this time, we at Hands of Freedom, with your support, are committed to walking closely with the families we serve in India, bringing the good news of the gospel and holistic solutions of food and essential supplies to these communities.

With your help, we sustained more than 2,200 families in 2020.
