It was a distressing situation. The little girl from the slums was attending school – a privilege generally reserved for boys – but she was doing poorly. Would she be able to stay in school? No one knew her eyesight was bad. As with most families living in poverty, her family would likely never be able to afford to get a daughter’s eyes checked.
That is, until Hands of Freedom coordinated with a volunteer eye doctor to provide eye exams for children and adults. For a nominal fee, this little girl got glasses and cried with happiness. Being able to see clearly changed the course of her life.
Hands of Freedom is providing hope through health. Our churches welcome visiting medical professionals who seek to provide basic healthcare. Just one visit with a healthcare professional can have a lasting impact on youngsters’ lives. Your support is blessing many lives.
