It has been close to five months that we have been in this start/stop season. Some places are still in lock down and some you are able to move freely about. Our prayer is that this will be a season where you experience an extra measure of His grace and peace to deal with the scenarios that surround you. We also pray it is a season that you have more time to be in the word and prayer. I read a quote recently:
“I believe the place of prayer is not only a place where I lose my burdens but also a place where I get a burden. He shares my burden and I share his burden … to know that burden, we must hear the voice of the spirit. To hear that voice, we must be still and know that he is God”
Leonard Ravenhill
As I reflected on that quote, it was a good reminder to reflect on our mission on this earth, be ambassadors of Christ sharing His good news of the kingdom, and be people of hope and solutions. To be His ambassadors, we also need to have the same burden that He has for this world. It also has been a good reminder to be constantly grounded in His word and prayer.
As we navigate this unprecedented and uncertain season, we are reminded that regardless of what changes around us nothing about the God we serve changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Psalmist says in
Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.
We are thankful that we can stand on His word which is a light to our path, and His spirit that guides us in the way of truth. We are also reminded more than ever that prayer is the engine for everything that we do.
We want to thank you all for your continued prayer and support of the ministry of Hands of Freedom as you enable us to bring the hope of the Gospel along with meeting real needs in very challenging communities.
