Your help is urgently needed
Here is what’s happening right now across India. A destitute impoverished family is struggling for existence. Food, water, clothing and shelter are all a challenge. Children are not in school, work is not easily available. Hope of change is slim to none and then a stranger they have never met arrives with a solution to get them out by offering work, income and sustainability.
All they have to do is send their young child with him to the big city where the child will be given a job and send money back home monthly.
This is often the last time the family will see their child. A brutal orientation ensues where the children are kept locked or caged. Abuse, torture and rape are heaped on these precious lives. The children give up, yielding to their existence as a lifelong slave.
Most of these missing children are trafficked by organized gangs who know the system. They are locked up in a brothel, a wealthy home or small workshops making it hard for them to escape.
Millions end up in forced labor, domestic slavery and prostitution.
Hands of Freedom is saving lives
With your help, change is not only possible. Change is happening. Thanks to the blessings of Hands of Freedom volunteers and supporters:
- More than 500 children have begun their educational journey in our preschool, away from the hands of predators and on a new God-given destiny. Many of them are their family’s first generation to attend school.
- More than 3,000 children have been reached through our Hope Centers and Sunday school. Children in our Hope Centers are taught schoolwork, receive a meal, and learn about their value and worth. A Hope Center is a place where kids can be kids: learn, play games, and not be afraid of the many dangers they may encounter in their daily lives.
- Thirty three fresh water wells have been dug providing access to fresh water to more than 75,000 people. Access to clean water has greatly reduced water-borne diseases, freed women to engage in earning a livelihood and enabled children to attend school.
These are just a few examples of how Hands of Freedom is doing God’s work. The need is critical. Every day, hundreds of children in India are forced into prostitution and sexual slavery. Families are torn apart.
